Late July typically sees the hottest day of the year, and when the sun is out few drinks are as refreshing as an iced cold Arnold Palmer beverage.
After a hot day on course, Palmer used to ask his wife Winnie to make him an iced tea with lemonade in it, probably not imaging that one day the combination would be a globally popular drink named for him. Today AriZona Beverages offers eight flavors of the Arnold Palmer Half & Half beverage and sells 400 million cans a year. The iced-tea-and-lemonade mix has its own fan community, its own fashions and a popular ESPN Sports Center commercial as well, ensuring that “Arnold Palmer” remains a household name on and off the golf course.
