Coco Chanel said that “fashion is in the sky, in the street; fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live.” Arnold Palmer made sure fashion was on the golf course as well, and his impact on the look of the game is immeasurable.
Lauded as a style icon since his earliest days on tour, Palmer was a regular fixture in magazines such as Esquire, LOOK and Life, appearing alongside celebrities and being praised for his appearance as much as for his golf. In 2011 GQ magazine put him on its cover and named Palmer one of the “25 coolest athletes of all time,” while this year PUMA announced a new Arnold Palmer by PUMA collection for 2020, proving that being fashionable never goes out of fashion. As Palmer said on being named one of GQ’s coolest, “That’s pretty cool.”
